The famous American chain Steak ‘n Shake appointed MZA to carry out the detailed design and site supervision for their first restaurant in Europe – the flagship for the brand in France. The restaurant has a prime location in Cannes, opposite the Palais des Festivals.
The project involved uniting three different premises into one restaurant and covered 3 floors, from cellar to first floor. It also invoved creating a covered terrace, with a cantilevered roof covering 10m² on the public footpath. The design created presents the visual identity of the brand in a very contemporary stylish setting, with crystallised glass ceramic panels, bespoke coloured backlit glass, mahogany walls, a bespoke ‘retro’ elevator and. bespoke furniture.
The project was handed over in time for the Cannes film festival in May 2014. The clients have indicated an extremely positive response and turnover since opening and have since appointed MZA for further restaurants in Marseille and Paris.
